The Youth and Sports Minister has ordered his Ministry to conduct a detailed investigation over the Malaysian flag fiasco.

This is after a wrong visual was used for the Jalur Gemilang at a basketball game opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, the police have called up the president of the Malaysian Basketball Association, who says the job had been outsourced to an IT contractor.

Earlier, the association apologised and said it takes full responsibility for the error.

The Education Ministry says Form 4 students will not be given the freedom to choose whatever subjects and electives they like.

Instead, the Ministry explains that students will be given subject packages which cater to their interests and capabilities.

It says the new packages will allow students to pick up to 5 elective subjects, but adds it also depends on the resources of each school.

There was some confusion after the Ministry announced that the Science and Arts streams would be abolished from next year.

All 222 MPs have until next Thursday to declare their assets and those of their spouses, children and trustees.

The deadline was extended from October 1st,  amid reluctance from many opposition lawmakers.

The de facto Law Minister says the declaration must be presented to the Dewan Rakyat speaker with a copy forwarded to the MACC.
