Six years after his death, Chin Peng makes headlines like Tupac

The Home Ministry was not aware that the ashes of former Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng had recently been brought back into the country. 

Its Deputy Minister says they only learnt about it when it was reported in a news portal yesterday.

He adds that the Ministry will be investigating the matter, and that the government had not changed its stance of not allowing Chin Peng's ashes to be brought back, following his death in a Thai hospital six years ago.

Easier payment at govt clinics soon

The Health Ministry is making it more convenient to pay for your visit to the doctor.

It's going down the cashless route by introducing e-wallet payments, with the facility currently available at four government clinics as part of a trial.

It will be expanded to other government clinics and hospitals in due time.

There's no safety risk in MPs declaring assets

The de-facto Law Minister has brushed aside concerns from Opposition MPs, that declaring their assets would pose a safety risk to them.

Datuk Liew Vui Keong says Pakatan Harapan MPs have already done so, without any incident.

This comes as the deadline for all MPs to declare their assets to the MACC, was extended from October 1st to next Thursday.
