Najib to appear in court over SRC International charges

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is set to take the stand in court today, as part of his SRC International trial.

This will be the first time a former Malaysian Prime Minister will answer charges against him in a court of law.

Ongoing floods showing no signs of easing

The flood situation in Kelantan has worsened overnight, with more than 10,000 people now forced to seek shelter at flood relief centers there. 

Terengganu is also not showing signs of improvement, with the number of evacuees remaining at about 5,000. 

Meanwhile, Johor has about 50 individuals currently at relief centers in Batu Pahat.

Return of PLKN?

The National Service Program could be making a comeback. 

Defense Minister Mohamad Sabu says there are calls from MPs from both sides of the political divide for the program's return. 

He adds that he will bring the matter up with the government to see if it is even necessary in line with current needs, and also if the government has the budget to carry out the program.
