Malaysians respond to govt's PLUS Highway move

There've been mixed reactions to the Prime Minister's announcement, that the PLUS Highway will not be sold, with toll rates to also be reduced by 18 percent.

Some are happy with the move, saying the reduction will help ease the cost of living.

However, FOMCA told The Star that while the reduction in toll rates will benefit vehicle owners, the government's focus should be on improving public transportation.

The Malaysian Public Transport Users Association feels the same way, saying we need more policies to encourage people to shift from private to public transport.
