Zuraida says she's not jumping ship

PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin has rubbished rumours that she's joining Parti Bersatu. 

She says photos that emerged online apparently showing her name on a Bersatu application form, and a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, are all fake.

It comes after the Housing and Local Government Minister was recently issued a show-cause letter by PKR, for unspecified disciplinary issues.

MOH steps up screenings at entry points amid coronavirus threat

The Health Ministry says it has stepped up screening at all the country's main entry points, after the coronavirus in Wuhan, China started spreading.

China saw its number of cases triple over the weekend, while the coronavirus has also spread to Thailand, South Korea and Japan.

In a separate development, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefley Ahmad says the Ministry needs a bit more time to compile data about influenza cases in the country.

He says the process is time consuming, as its currently not required by law for influenza cases to be reported to the authorities.

BSH first phase payments being sent out

The first phase payment of 300 ringgit under the Cost of Living Aid is now being credited into the accounts of registered recipients.

The Finance Ministry says the payment will benefit nearly 3.8 million people, involving a sum of more than a billion ringgit.

In a separate development, the Ministry adds that close to 66 million ringgit has already been disbursed to elligible recipients under the e-Tunai Rakyat initiative.
