First Malaysian COVID-19 case makes full recovery

The first confirmed Malaysian case of Covid-19 has recovered from the virus, and has been discharged from hospital.

The Health Ministry says the 41-year-old tested positive on February 3rd, and had been in isolation at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

This means that a total of 9 Covid-19 patients have recovered.

Meanwhile, China and Asean nations will be holding a special meeting in Laos later this week, to discuss a response to the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Beijing says among others, the meeting will talk about joint prevention and control measures against the virus.

Still on the matter, China has reported 105 more deaths from the coronavirus outbreak, bringing the country's total to over 1700. 

70 thousand others have been infected. 

Six-year-old found safe after carjacking incident

A six-year-old boy in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, has been found safe, after being kidnapped during a carjacking incident.

The incident occurred when the boy's mother had stopped by the roadside to buy breakfast, when a man suddenly entered the car and sped off. 

Police say the suspect later dropped the child off at a stall, before fleeing with the stolen vehicle. 

New foundation launched to encourage cervical cancer screening

The ROSE Foundation and Laboratory in Malaysia has been launched, to provide screening services for cervical cancer, which is the third most common cancer among women here. 

The Foundation aims to encourage more women to screen for cervical cancer, through self-testing kits.  

Also, the program offers free screenings at govt health clinics for women from B40 households .
