All 107 Malaysian evacuees tested negative for COVID-19

All 107 Malaysians who were evacuated from Wuhan earlier this month, have been allowed to return home after completing their 2-week quarantine period. 

The Health Ministry has confirmed that all those evacuated are free from the coronavirus.

This includes the two evacuees who initially tested positive for COVID-19, but have since tested negative in later testings. 

Meahwhile, the ministry also says that the Malaysians who have been infected by the coronavirus on board a cruise ship in Japan are being treated there, until they make a full recovery. 

Tour bus drivers affected by lack of tourists amid COVID-19 outbreak

More than 500 tour bus drivers have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. 

The Deputy Human Resources Minister says the drivers have not been terminated, but employers can't afford to pay their salaries .....due to declining tourist numbers coming in. 

He adds that the ministry will help the affected bus drivers to find work elsewhere. 

Meanwhile, China has reported their deathtoll has now risen to over 1800, with 72,000 infection cases. 

Actor Ashraf Sinclair passes away due to heart attack

Indonesia-based actor, Ashraf Sinclair had passed away early this morning at the age of 41, after suffering a heart attack.

His friend, television personality and actress, Daphne Iking tells Awani she was shocked to hear of his passing, and wishes her condolonces to Ashraf's family. 

She said, "He was an amazing father, a loving husband, a wonderful friend, a great brother, and I know his spirit will continue to shine bright, and continue to inspire us to be the best version of ourself. Al fatihah." 

Ashraf rose to fame after he starred in the movie 'Gol DAN Gincu' in 2005.
