Malaysia's New Cabinet Is Officially In Place

All 69 Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the new Cabinet have been sworn in at Putrajaya earlier today, in an audience with the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. 

Earlier, six new senators were sworn it at the Dewan Rakyat.

Perak Sultan Accepts DS Faizal's Resignation as MB 

The Sultan of Perak has accepted Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu's resignation as state Mentri Besar. 

The Sultan will now be evaluating candidates for the post, nominated by UMNO, PAS, and Bersatu. 

Barisan Nasional has nominated UMNO Relations Chairman Datuk Saarani Mohd for the post.

PAS has not yet revealed any names to be nominated, while Bersatu has named Faizal as its candidate to once again become state MB. 

Sabah Bars Entry to Travellers From Iran and Italy 

Sabah has barred entry to visiting Iranians and Italian nationals, to curb the spread of COVID-19

Its state secretary adds that foreigners and Malaysians who are non-Sabah residents, with recent travel history to Iran and Italy will also not be allowed to enter the state. 

This comes a week after Sarawak imposed travel restrictions for Italy and Iran.
