Ban on inter-state travelling to be reviewed

Mar 18, 2020

There is no need to rush to the police station to obtain special permission to travel outstation during the Movement Control Order.

This is because police have now rescinded the ban on inter-state travel for the time being, while waiting for officials to make a final decision on the matter.

It comes after authorities had earlier said that those wishing to travel across state lines during the Movement Control Order, would first need to obtain special permission from the cops.

This led to long queues at police stations around the country last night, forcing the cops putting the requirement on hold for now.

The country's food supply is stable and under control

The Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry says its working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure there's enough food for everyone during this period.

It says rice stocks are consistent, while supplies of meat and eggs is also sufficient to meet local demand during the Movement Control Order.

Selangor water disruptions last night resolved

Air Selangor says four of its treatment plants that had to temporarily shut down due to odour pollution yesterday, are now back in operation.

The shutdown led to a brief water supply disruption for several areas, although supplies are expected to be fully restored before the end of the day.
