The number of patients released from hospital today is 3 times the number of new COVID-19 infection cases.
98 patients were discharged today, compared to only 36 new cases - which is also the lowest number of new infections.
This brings our tally to 5,425 infections, but only 2,000 or so are categorised as active cases.
However, the Health Director General warned that new infection cases could rise again in the next two weeks.
Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this because of continued testing of Malaysians who have returned from overseas, and those living in areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has announced zero fatalities today, meaning our death toll remains at 89.
Government imposes sixth EMCO
A 6th area has been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order rules.
The Defence Minister says they are the North KL City Centre, as well as areas surrounding the Selayang Wholesale Market.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the EMCO only applies to residential areas around the wholesale market, and the market itself remains open.
The EMCO is in effect from today until May 3rd.
