Malaysia reports more discharged patients than new COVID-19 cases

The number of patients released from hospital today has exceeded the number of new COVID-19 cases.

95 patients have recovered, compared to only 40 new infections.

This means Malaysia’s tally of infection cases now stands at 5,820, with 1,700 or so being active cases.

Meanwhile, one more patient has passed away due to COVID-19, raising our death toll to 99.

First batch of univeristy students to return home tonight

Over 1,000 students at their university campuses, will be travelling back to their hometowns starting tonight.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says only one person is permitted to pick the student up, upon arrival.

He adds that students without any transportation will be brought home by respective district frontliners.

EMCO in Simpang Renggam, Johor ends 

The Enhanced Movement Control Order, or EMCO in Simpang Renggam, Johor will be lifted tomorrow.

However, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the EMCO in Sungai Lui, Hulu Langat, Selangor will be extended for another week until May 5th
