Unclear if MCO will be extended

May 08, 2020

It's still too soon to say if the MCO will be extended further.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the Health Ministry will advise the government on the matter, and an announcement will be made two or three days before the current Conditional MCO expires.

The CMCO period ends on May 12.

On another note, Datuk Seri Ismail reminded that only one-way interstate trips are allowed during the Gerak Malaysia programme, from yesterday until Sunday.

He adds that after the 4-day period, interstate travel will not be allowed unless in an emergency, and with police permission.

68 new COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide today, raising the total to over 6,500.

No new deaths were reported today.
