No More Inter-State Travel!

May 21, 2020

Starting today, Msians will no longer be allowed to cross state borders for the duration of the Conditional MCO.

The Defence Minister says this is due to a surge in the number of people applying to cross state borders.

However, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says those whose applications were already approved can still proceed with their journeys.

He adds that anyone attempting interstate travel will now be given on-the-spot police compounds at roadblocks.

Over 2,400 motorists attempting to cross state borders for Aidilfitri were told to turn back yesterday.

Non-Muslim houses of worship will be allowed to reopen starting June 10th.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this ONLY involves those that are located in COVID-19 green zones.

Strict SOPs will be put in place to manage the size of the congregation, while the elderly and young children are NOT allowed to attend.

Also, they will only be allowed to open on key days for each respective religion.
