There's a storm coming

Jun 05, 2020

Bersatu’s supreme council held a closed-door meeting last night away from its headquarters, and without the presence of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

A group from Tun M’s faction did make a brief appearance, but left the meeting shortly after making their views heard.

The meeting’s agenda was not revealed, but Bersatu says it will release a statement sometime today.

This came as leaders from Pakatan Harapan component parties held their own meeting last night, hinting that there will be a big change in the near future.

It comes amid speculation that PH and Tun M’s faction has managed to gain the upper hand in the Dewan Rakyat, just months after losing power in February’s political crisis.

MOH explains COVID-19 among foreign workers situation

The Health Director-General says some of the illegal foreign workers who were tested for Covid-19 prior to being sent to Immigration Detention Centers, may have been in the incubation period, and therefore initially tested negative for the coronavirus.

Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this is one of the possibilities they’re looking at, amid an increase in Covid-19 infections at those detention facilities.
