Schools to reopen starting June 24th

Schools will start to reopen in two weeks time.

Education Minister Dr Radzi Jidin says secondary students sitting for key exams like the SPM and STPM will go back to school starting Wednesday, June 24th.

Classes for other students will reopen in stages, and further announcements will be made in due time.

Dr Radzi urged everyone to follow all the relevant guidelines, to ensure that students are able to learn in a safe environment.

He adds that the relevant authorities are still drafting the SOPs for school buses.

Malaysia sets new record reporting just two new COVID-19 cases

Only two new COVID-19 cases were reported today, raising the total number of infections to 8,338.

This is the lowest recorded number of daily infection cases to date.

Meanwhile, another 39 patients were discharged from hospital, meaning that over 7,000 people have now recovered from the virus.

One patient succumbed to COVID-19 today, raising the death toll to 118.

Defence Minister: Be careful on the road

PDRM expects traffic volume on Malaysian roads to surge this weekend, as people are expected to travel back to their hometowns for the first time since the start of the Movement Control Order.

As such, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is reminding people to be careful behind the wheel, as the number of fatal road accidents has started to rise..

Meanwhile, he adds that for now, the existing SOPs for the number of occupants per vehicle remains unchanged.
