Employers who pay for Covid-19 screening cost get double tax deduction

Employers funding the cost of Covid-19 screening for their workers throughout this year are eligible for a double tax deduction.

The Finance Ministry says SOCSO will bear the cost of Covid-19 screening for workers in red zones.

Individuals who undergo Covid-19 screening are also entitled to tax exemption.

The government will discuss whether to revise the operating hours for eateries in MCO states following calls for food outlets to operate until 10pm.

The Senior Minister for Security says the government has taken note of the requests and complaints by the public wanting eateries to open until late.

The whole country except Sarawak is set to be placed under an MCO from Friday untili February 4th due to a rise in Covid-19 cases.

Previously, only Selangor, Penang, KL, Putrajaya, Labuan, Melaka, Johor and Sabah were placed under the MCO from January 13 to 26th.
