Putrajaya will begin the rollout of the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme at the end of this month.

The first phase, involving frontliners, will start this month with the high-risk groups next, followed by the rest of the country.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says 26.5 million people will be immunised in the biggest ever vaccination exercise in the country and it will be given to Malaysians for free.

Meanwhile, Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is in charge of the Covid-19 immunisation coordination.

Starting today, night markets, barbershops, and car wash centers will be allowed to operate under strict SOPs.

Putrajaya says the decision was made after no new Covid-19 clusters have been reported from the three segments.

The Human Resources Ministry will set up a hotline to enable workers, who had their wages cut by employers for mandatory Covid-19 screening to lodge a report.

The government says employers are not allowed to pass on the cost of the screenings to their workers.
