The vaccine arrived at KLIA this morning by bulk of 200 liters, which will then be processed into 300,000 doses.
Science Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says the Sinovac vaccine is in the process of being registered with the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.
Khairy has also confirmed that he will not take the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine injection but will take the next vaccine that will be approved by the NPRA, dismissing claims that leaders will only take the Pfizer vaccine.
Try Not To Miss Your Covid-19 Vaccination Appointments
Those with confirmed Covid-19 vaccination appointments should do their very best not to miss them.
The Health Ministry says the vaccines are currently available in limited amounts, so it is better not to waste them.
It also did not rule out the possibility of taking action against people who do not turn upto be vaccinated.
Travel Restrictions Maybe In Place Until Herd Immunity Is Achieved
The travel ban between states and districts may go on until at least 70% of the population have been vaccinated for Covid-19.
The Health Director General says their focus now is to achieve herd immunity.
Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham adds that we could learn a lesson from the decision to re-allow interstate travel in December last year, which resulted in outbreaks in green states.
