RM10K compound for SOP violations start today
Mar 11, 2021
Starting today, those who are caught breaching COVID-19 SOPs, could be issued a compound of up to RM10,000.
Police stressed that the decision to raise the fine is to ensure public compliance to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The IGP also reminded that RM10,000 is the maximum compound, and that violators can appeal for a lower fine at the district health office.
Meanwhile, cops have been instructed to tighten checks against violators, especially those trying to cross state borders without permission.
