Fully vaccinated individuals may be allowed to travel
Apr 02, 2021
Malaysians who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine may be allowed to travel freely between states and districts.
The Prime Minister says the latest international research on the vaccine indicated that those who have been fully vaccinated and given a certificate could travel anywhere.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says this is not an incentive but an encouragement for those individuals.
The Health Ministry has detected a South African Covid-19 variant in the country.
The variant was found in 9 cases linked to two clusters in Kuala Langat and Sepang.
The variant was first discovered in December last year in South Africa and the UK, with some reports claiming the variant to be more contagious than the original virus.
The second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme will start on April 17, two days earlier than initially announced.
The Health Ministry says the registration campaign needed to be intensified as senior citizens and individuals with comorbidities made up only 30% of those who had registered for vaccination through MySejahtera.
