New COVID-19 cases close to 3k

Malaysia reported a rise in new COVID-19 cases today, with almost 3,000 infections.
The Health Ministry says 2,875 cases were reported today, with Kelantan recording the highest number of infections, followed by Selangor, and Sarawak.
Perlis was the only state that had zero new cases.
Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 1,407 after seven patients succumbed to the virus.

Don’t worry if you miss the phone call to set up your COVID-19 vaccination appointment
You are still able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under the National Immunisation Program, even if you miss the phone call to set up your vaccination appointment.
The program’s Special Committee assured that registered recipients will remain in the system.
It was responding to a recent viral post alleging recipients who miss the call will have their registrations revoked.

Civil servants and govt retirees to receive Special Aidilfitri Cash Aid
All civil servants on Grade 56 and below will receive a special cash aid worth RM500, in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
The PM’s Office says the one-off cash payment will be credited on May 6th, along with the May salary.
Government retirees will also be given RM250.
