New COVID-19 cases still over 3k

Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases continue to reach over 3,000, with 3,788 infections today.
Selangor had the most cases at 1,265, followed by Sarawak, and Kelantan.
Meanwhile, Perlis, Labuan, and Putrajaya reported single digit cases.
The Health Ministry also recorded 14 fatalities, raising the death toll to 1,506.

Free 1GB data plan extended to July
Five telco companies have agreed to extend the provision of the daily 1GB Internet data plan to all its customers.
The MCMC says the free plan will be extended until the end of July.
It says the extension is to help those hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially students who will be returning to lessons online.

All Kelantan schools to remain closed until Aidilfitri break
All schools in Kelantan will remain closed until the Hari Raya holidays.
The state's Education Department says the order will take effect next week.
Earlier, it was reported that schools state-wide were to be shut until May 1st.

Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani appointed new IGP
Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been appointed the country's new top cop.
Datuk Seri Acryl's appointment will take effect this coming Tuesday.
He will replace Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador, whose contract will expire next week, after serving two years as police chief.
