It is necessary to enforce MCO 3.0 due to the country’s current Covid-19 situation.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says 80% of infections now are from the community and not from clusters.

Dr Hisham says the MCO is also to ensure hospitals and ICUs do not become more overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients.

The 3-week nationwide MCO comes into effect today until June 7th

Meanwhile, Sarawak will stick with its existing Covid-19 control measures until May 17, which is the conditional MCO, similar to the decision made by the Sabah government.
