Malaysia reports 45 Covid-19 fatalities

Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 cases rose to 4,446 yesterday, compared to less than 3,800 on the previous day.

Selangor again topped the list of states with the most infections, followed by Sarawak, Johor and Kelantan.

Perlis and Labuan both recorded zero cases yesterday.

The Health Ministry also reported 45 fatalities from Covid-19, the highest death toll in a single day so far.

Only the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is suitable for women who are in their 14th to 33rd week of pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers.

Minister in-charge of the vaccination programme Khairy Jamaluddin says the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines are not recommended for them , citing limited safety data at this time.

Khairy Jamaluddin says he has been ordered to self-isolate for 10 days, after being deemed a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case.

So far he has tested negative for the coronavirus.
