The government will enforce stricter SOPs during the Movement Control Order, in efforts against the nation’s ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The PM’s Office says this includes additional restrictions for the economic and social sectors.

An announcement is set to be made today.

Health Ministry receive over 145k calls on psychosocial support hotline

stricter sops to be announced today

More than 145 thousand calls have been made to the Health Ministry's psychosocial support hotline since last March from those hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ministry says over 80% of the calls were related to mental health issues that require counselling including depression, anxiety, and suicidal behaviours.

It adds that many of the calls were due to loss of jobs, family conflicts, and a lack of access to help services.

Enough essential item supply during MCO3.0

There is no need for panic buying as there is enough supply of essential items throughout the country's current Movement Control Order.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry adds that it will continue monitoring the situation nationwide to ensure supplies are sufficient.

It also warned consumers not to hoard daily necessities as it will lead to a supply disruption.
