Health DG: 60 Covid-19 clusters linked to Hari Raya & Gawai

There were 60 Covid-19 clusters related to gatherings during festivals in the short span of four weeks last month.
The Health Ministry says 58 of those were linked to Hari Raya while two were a result of Gawai.
27% of some 13,000 individuals who were screened for Covid-19, tested positive for Covid-19.
There have been 20 fatalities and 11 people are currently receiving treatment in ICU.
Its director general urged Malaysians to stay home if there are no pressing reasons to go outside, and encouraged them to get vaccinated to achieve herd immunity.
Malaysia’s number of new Covid-19 infections saw a slight drop, with 5,671 cases yesterday.
It's also the third time in four days where new cases fell below the 6,000 mark. Selangor, KL, and Sarawak had the most infections, accounting for more than half of yesterday’s total.
Active cases also have dropped below the 80 thousand mark.
PTPTN loan borrowers are not required to provide any supporting documents to apply for a three-month deferment.
Eligible borrowers, who lost their jobs or were forced to take pay cuts due to the pandemic, can apply online until August 31st.
