Govt increases allowance for healthcare volunteers

Individuals volunteering in the country’s efforts to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic will receive double their daily allowance starting this month.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin expects some 19,000 volunteers will be given a daily allowance of RM100.
He says the raise will be given to those working more than 12 hours a day.
Malaysia’s number of Covid-19 cases fell below the 5,000 mark for a second consecutive day.
4,743 cases were detected yesterday, with Selangor having the most infections at 1,566.
This is followed by KL, Negeri Sembilan, and Sarawak.
The Association of Private Hospitals says about 1 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered by the private healthcare sector.
It adds that about 100 private hospitals and 700 general practitioners are involved in the vaccination programme.
