Eateries allowed to open from 6am to 10pm

Starting today, eateries will be allowed to operate from 6am until 10pm.

The government says it came to this decision after considering pleas and feedback from business operators in the food and beverage industry.

However, dine-ins are still prohibited.

The total lockdown will not be lifted as scheduled today, as Covid-19 cases are still high.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says this phase will continue until the country reaches the threshold of less than 4,000 Covid-19 cases a day.

He adds that the government will announce more comprehensive assistance either today or tomorrow.

Several sectors will be allowed to operate, including hair salons and car washes when the country transitions into Phase two of the National Recovery Plan.

Inter-district travel, domestic tourism, home visits and students returning to school will be allowed during Phase 3.
