govt announced pemulih worth rm150 billion

A new financial aid package worth RM150 billion has been introduced to help those hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yaasin says among the initiatives under the new PEMULIH package, various cash aid will be paid out in stages.

Poor households will be given a total of RM1,300, while single individuals under this category will receive RM500.

He adds that RM800 will be given to B40 households, with single individuals to receive RM200 ringgit.

Aid will also be channelled to those in the M40 group, with RM250 to be given to these households, while single individuals will receive RM100.

On another note, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says all individual borrowers, including those in the T20 group, can apply for an automatic six-month moratorium.

Applications can be made from July 7th.

Additionally, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says EPF members will be allowed to withdraw up to RM5,000 under a new scheme called i-Citra. 

Members can submit their applications online from July 15th, with the first payment to be credited in August.

COVID-19 death toll passes 5 thousand mark

Malaysia reported 5,218 new COVID-19 cases today.

Selangor had the most cases at 1,989, followed by Negeri Sembilan, and KL.

Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 5,001 after 57 patients succumbed to the virus.

KJ dismisses claims Selangor not given enough COVID-19 vaccines

Khairy Jamaluddin has denied allegations that Selangor were not given enough COVID-19 vaccine supplies.

The National Immunisation Program's Coordinating Minister says the state received some 1.3 million doses, and that only 76% of it has so far been used.

He was responding to a state EXCO's recent social media post, claiming some vaccination centres in the state could be forced to close due to a lack of supplies.
