The Health Director General expects the country to report fewer than 1,000 new COVID cases a day by as early as October.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this can be achieved if 150,000 people per day are given their second dose.

Currently, over 8.6 million people have received their first shot, which accounts for almost 37% of the adult population.

Daily vaccinations also hit a new high, after some 434,000 people were given the jab yesterday.

Police in Negeri Sembilan have arrested a married couple after they allegedly acted out a family suicide attempt in a viral video.

It's believed that the suspects wanted to raise awareness about the serious mental health issues that arise due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.

However, a report was lodged, due to alleged elements of child abuse in the video, and concerns that others could follow what was seen in the clip.
