Most states are expected to move into the fourth and final phase of the National Recovery Plan by as early as October.

PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told Parliament that the projection is based on ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19.

On another note, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says efforts will be boosted, to speed up the country’s COVID-19 vaccination rate.

He says it's to ensure all of the adult population are fully vaccinated by October.

There are no plans to extend the current State of Emergency, which is scheduled to be lifted on August 1st.

De facto Law Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan told Parliament that the government has decided not to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to extend the emergency proclamation.

He adds that all the emergency ordinances were revoked on July 21st.

Slight drop to 14k new COVID-19 cases

Malaysia reported a slight drop in new COVID-19 infections, with 14,516 cases today.

Selangor continues to record the bulk of the total, ahead of Johor and KL.

Meanwhile, Perlis and Labuan both had single digit infections.
