Almost 50% of yesterday's Covid-19 patients are asymptomatic
Jul 27, 2021
Almost 50% of the 14,516 Covid-19 cases reported yesterday were asymptomatic infections.
The Health Ministry says 92% of the infected individuals identified were not vaccinated and urged more Malaysians to get themselves immunised.
Meanwhile, category One and Two patients are allowed to undergo home quarantine to prevent overcrowding at Covid-19 Assessment Centres and hospitals, especially in Klang Valley.
This as Malaysia reported a record high of 207 fatalities from Covid-19 yesterday, raising the death toll to 8,201.
The number of Covid-19 patients admitted to ICUs has reached 1,009, the highest ever recorded.
The government has agreed to extend the contracts of about 14,000 medical doctors, dentists and pharmacists for a period of 2 years.
The Finance Minister says medical and dental officers, who were accepted to pursue specialist studies during the 2 years, would then be given a further contract for a maximum period of 4 years.
This is to ensure that the officers concerned successfully complete their respective specialist studies.
