GE15 to be held no later than end of July 2022
Aug 14, 2021
PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says the 15th General Election will take place by the end of July next year at the latest.
He says he will call for the election once the ongoing pandemic is under control, as he has no desire to hold on to power.
Meanwhile, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says the government is ready to work with the opposition to forge bipartisan cooperation, if the motion of confidence is passed in Parliament.
He proposed such measures to ensure the government can continue to function amid the ongoing outbreak.

UMNO and PH say no to bipartisan support
The UMNO President and Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council have both rejected Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's proposals to work with the Opposition to forge bipartisan cooperation.
They claim the offer proves Tan Sri Muhyiddin no longer enjoys majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.
Among others, he offered ministerial perks to the Opposition leader, and guaranteed to table a bill to set a two-term limit on the PM's post.
