Tan Sri Muhyiddin resigns

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced his resignation as the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
He made the announcement, after presenting his resignation letter to the Yang di Pertuan Agong.
In line with his resignation, all cabinet ministers have also resigned.
The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong earlier accepted Tan Sri Muhyiddin's resignation, as well as the resignation of his cabinet.
His Majesty also agreed for Tan Sri Muhyiddin to carry out his duties as caretaker Prime Minister until a new PM is appointed.
Meanwhile, the Agong decreed that now is not the time to hold the 15th General Election, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

New COVID-19 cases drop to 19,740
Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases today dropped slightly to 19,740.
Selangor had the most infections, followed by Sabah, and Kedah.
Several states including Sarawak, Kelantan, and Penang also reported four-digit cases.
Meanwhile, Labuan had two.

Nearly 46% of adult population now fully vaccinated
Almost 28 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have now been administered under the National Immunisation Program.
Over 10 million people have already completed their vaccinations, which accounts for nearly 46% of the adult population.
Yesterday, some 415,000 people were given the shot, with most of the doses given to second time recipients.
