Political leaders congratulate new PM Datuk Seri Ismail

Several leaders across the political divide have congratulated Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob fir his appointment as Malaysia’s 9^th Prime Minister.

They include UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zainal Hamidi, Amanah Chief Mohd Sabu, and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

Many of them hope that the new government will continue with efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Datuk Seri Ismail will take his oath of office today at 2.30pm.

No dining at restaurants in certain Sarawak areas

Sarawak will reintroduce strict COVID-19 SOPs in the Kuching, Samarahan, and Serian divisions, due to a surge in new cases.

State authorities say under the guidelines, residents will not be allowed to dine-in at restaurants, while business operating hours will be shortened.

The new ruling takes effect from midnight tonight.

COVID Immunisation Program administers over 30mil vaccine doses

More than 30 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have now been administered under the National Immunisation Program.

Over 12.4 million people have already completed both doses, which accounts for around 53% of the adult population.

Some 480 thousand people were given the jab yesterday.
