Parents can now accompany teens during vaccination

One parent or guardian is now allowed to accompany teenagers while the vaccine is being administered.
They are also allowed to record the process on video.
However, the teenagers will have to be on their own during the observation period after the jab, to avoid overcrowding the area.

Malaysia is in negotiations to buy an anti-viral drug that claims to significantly reduce Covid-19 deaths and hospitalizations.
The Health Minister says it is part of efforts to find innovative treatment options in addition to vaccines, as we transition to living with the coronavirus.
The drug has gone through clinical trials, with the manufacturer Merck to seek authorization for emergency use in the US as soon as possible.

Malaysia is inching closer towards reopening state borders.
This, after the rate of fully vaccinated adults nationwide rose to 87.2 percent yesterday.
The government had earlier announced that inter-state travel will be allowed again, once 90 percent of adults have received both doses.
Separately, the Health Ministry reported another 109 Covid-related fatalities yesterday.
It was the lowest figure reported in a day, since the first half of July.
