Several states hit by flash floods

Several states were hit by flash floods yesterday due to continuous heavy rain.

A firefighter is in critical condition in a hospital in Melaka after nearly drowning.

The incident happened when he was rescuing flood victims in Ayer Keroh.

In Selangor, a number of roads in Klang were flooded and vehicles were stalled due to  the heavy downpour.

Several roads and areas in Perak and Negeri Sembilan were also affected by the flash floods.

Weather officials had issued thunderstorm warnings for 12 states yesterday.

The Health Ministry has denied that the MySejahtera database had been breached.

This is after multiple users received spam emails and unsolicited one-time passwords.

It says the issues were due to the abuse of the app programming interface function by third parties.

The MySejahtera team has since increased the security level for the application and the website to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Malaysia reported a slight drop in Covid-19 cases yesterday, with 5,516 infections.

This means daily cases have remained below the 6 thousand mark for a third day in a row.
