Govt urged to reconsider political gathering ban

The government has been urged to reconsider its decision to ban political gatherings for the upcoming Melaka state election.
UMNO secretary general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan believes the gatherings should go ahead, as many are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Health Minister earlier announced that starting today, all political gatherings and campaign related events are banned until November 27th.
Khairy Jamaluddin says it's a precaution against the coronavirus, especially with the emergence of the Delta variant.

Those laid off this year to receive RM500 one-off cash aid
Those who had lost their jobs this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be given a one-off cash aid worth RM500.
PM Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the payment will be credited starting tomorrow.
Some 870,000 recipients are expected to benefit from the initiative.

Pejuang not contesting in Melaka polls
Pejuang says it will not contest in the upcoming Melaka state election.
Its chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohd says now is not the time to hold the polls, as the battle against COVID-19 is still ongoing.
