New COVID-19 cases in Malaysia rose again after the Health Ministry reported 5,446 infections today.
This is 426 cases more compared to yesterday’s figure.
Meanwhile, the Health Director General has reminded everyone to remain vigilant and get vaccinated against COVID-19.
He says wearing a face mask correctly and taking the booster shot are among the most effective measures to tackle the pandemic.
He adds that studies have shown that booster vaccinations can lower the risk of death by up to 90 percent.

OKU Sentral lodges police report over viral videos, despite accepting apology
The NGO, OKU Sentral has lodged a police report against several individuals who mocked persons with disabilities in two separate incidents.
It says it's to prevent a repeat of such offensive behaviour.
Those seen in two separate viral videos have since issued a public apology.

Sabah CM: No reports on alleged state invasion
The Sabah Chief Minister says he has not received any reports over a planned invasion in the state next year.
This comes after an international news report claimed that a military group from the Philippines is planning to attack the state in February.
The attack is purportedly to commemorate the incursion into Lahad Datu back in 2013.
