Govt to decide on endemic phase transition date next week

The actual date for Malaysia’s transition to the endemic phase of Covid-19 will be decided at a briefing next week.
The Defence Minister says this will be discussed during the Covid-19 quartet ministerial meeting which will be attended by the health and foreign ministries, as well as other relevant agencies.
The decision to hold back on declaring the endemic phase was for the overall safety and health of the public.
4.7 million MySejahtera users have activated the MySJ Trace feature on the app.
More than 2 thousand positive cases have uploaded their interactions which has helped inform others who have been in close proximity to monitor for symptoms or do a self-test.
The Health Ministry is urging the public to use this feature and assured that all interaction data will be anonymised.
New COVID-19 cases in Malaysia have dropped below the 3 thousand mark.
According to the Health DG, new infections stood at 2,342 today.
It's down by 668 cases compared to yesterday.
