PICKids: Vaccinations to start at schools next week

Feb 11, 2022

pickids: vaccinations to start at schools next week

Starting Monday, children aged 5 to 11 will be able to get the COVID vaccine at schools nationwide.

The Health Ministry says it's part of efforts to boost the vaccination rate.

It hopes to partially immunise 70% of eligible kids within two months of launching the PICKids program.

On another note, the Health Ministry has urged state authorities to emulate Sarawak, as the state has already given the jab to some 18,000 kids.

Stop focusing on COVID vaccine effects

Health experts have assured that parents need not worry about their children getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

They say most parents’ concerns are focused on the vaccine itself,

As such, they fail to see the jab as a way to prevent severe infection, which could lead to hospitalisation and even death.

Two doses of the vaccine are not only effective in lowering the risk of infection in children, but can also boost their immunity against Omicron.

Beware when seeking aesthetic medical treatment by unqualified professionals

Malaysians have been advised to be more cautious when seeking aesthetic medical treatment at facilities that are not registered with the Health Ministry.

This includes beauty salons, spas, and hotels.

It’s due to fears that these treatments can lead to health problems and even death if handled by unqualified professionals.

This comes after a report claimed over 20 beauty centres in the Klang Valley were allegedly offering cosmetic surgeries for cheap.
