Senior Defense Minister to be fined for SOP violation

The Senior Defense Minister is one of several top officials who will receive compound notices for SOP violations.

Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, MIC president Tan Sri S. Vigneswaran, caretaker Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohamed, as well as other top BN leaders will all be fined for failing to maintain physical distancing at a political party event.

The Health Minister also tweeted that his officers will continue to monitor SOP compliance…in the run up to the Johor elections.

The Health Ministry, through the Medical Devices Authority, has assured there is no Covid-19 in our tap water.

It issued the clarification after a video emerged, claiming to show a test kit that was placed under running tap water giving a positive result.

The MDA explained that the test kit was not used according to instructions or the intended purpose, which can lead to inaccurate or misleading results.

Health authorities in Sabah are urging parents to take the necessary steps to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection among young kids, especially those who are too young to be vaccinated.

This, after Sabah recorded 518 new coronavirus cases involving children yesterday, 33 of whom were infants less than a year old.

The Prime Minister has once again said that there is a good chance Ramadan bazaars will be allowed to operate this year, despite the spike in coronavirus cases.

However, he says there could be a change in SOP’s if the Covid situation changes before then, with an official announcement to be made in due time.
