No need for further COVID tests after completing quarantine

COVID-19 patients who have completed their quarantine period have been reminded that they do not need to undergo further testing.
The Health Ministry says it's because ultra-sensitive tests like RT-PCR will be able to detect viral genetic material in samples up to three months after infection.
It adds that individuals are unlikely to spread the infection, as the virus will no longer be able to reproduce.

PICKids: Sinovac jab now offered at selected PPVs
Starting today, the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine will be available at selected vaccination centres for recipients under the PICKids program.
Authorities say the jab will be offered to children aged 5 to 11 who are unable to take the Pfizer vaccine due to health reasons.
Kids who receive Sinovac will need two doses with an interval of 4 weeks, to complete the vaccination.

Primary schools to receive lockers to combat heavy school bags
The Education Ministry has outlined several measures to address the issue of heavy school bags.
Its Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin says among the measures are providing lockers in primary schools, which will be done in two phases.
The Ministry also plans to rearrange school timetables.
He adds that each subject will be limited to two exercise books, with no more than 80 pages each.
