17,476 new COVID019 cases; 30 fatalities

A further 30 COVID-19 fatalities were reported yesterday, including 5 brought-in-dead cases.

Johor recorded the most deaths, followed by Negeri Sembilan, and Kedah.

This, as daily infections dipped slightly to 17,476, which is some 1,000 cases lower than the previous day’s tally.

Meanwhile, recoveries stood at over 17,000.

Govt to double monitoring efforts at Ramadan bazaars

Authorities will double their efforts to monitor the price of food and goods sold at Ramadan bazaars throughout the fasting month.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry says around 3 thousand officers will be mobilised at all bazaars.

This, as Muslims throughout the country will begin fasting tomorrow.

Airlines urged to ensure passengers download MySejahtera

Airline companies have been urged to ensure that passengers entering Malaysia have already downloaded MySejahtera and obtained their traveller cards before departure.

The Health Minister says it is to ease the documentation process after they arrive in the country.

Khairy Jamaluddin adds that it's also because having a traveller card is a set condition in the current health protocol.
