road tax won't be abolished anytime soon

There are no plans to abolish road tax anytime soon.

The Transport Minister says this is because the tax is an important source of revenue for the government.

Anthony Loke said this in response to calls to completely do away with road taxes following the announcement that road tax stickers now no longer need to be displayed.

Separately, the Communications and Digital Ministry says a vulnerability in the MyJPJ app was successfully rectified before it was launched last Friday.

It comes amid concerns among some users about personal data security when using the application.

Nurul Izzah Anwar has stepped down from her post as senior advisor on economics and finance to her father, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This, after she accepted an invitation to co-chair a secretariat that supports the operations of the Advisory Committee to the Finance Minister.
