Education Ministry Goodies

Mar 15, 2023

education ministry goodies

The Education Ministry says for the time being, there are no plans for schools to start their academic years in January.

Over the past few years, the start of the school year was delayed to March, due to the Covid pandemic and resulting lockdowns.

The 2023/2024 school year will start next week.
-
Meanwhile the Education Director General says NO academic lessons will be held during the first week of the new school year.

He says instead, schools will focus on instilling values like courtesy, morality and Motivation.
-

The Education Ministry is also looking into a proposal for early school aid to be credited directly into students' bank accounts.

It says this can prevent a repeat of what happened earlier this year, when over 100 thousand ringgit in aid was stolen from a principal's car after he withdrew the cash from a bank.
