3 Years To Absorb Contract Doctors

It will take time for the government to absorb current contract doctors.

The PM says this is because of government finances, as 1.7 billion ringgit had to be
allocated this year, to recruit more contract doctors and to absorb existing ones to
permanent positions.

According to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the move to absorb nearly 13 thousand contract doctors is expected to take three years.

This year, around 4 thousand contract doctors have been given permanent positions.

Also, the Immigration Department’s website is back online, hours after it was targeted by a cyberattack.

Its director general assured that there were no information leaks from the attack, and links for services like myIMMs were not affected.

He adds that the hacker only defaced the site's landing page.

The department is working with the relevant authorities to beef up the site's security
