Ops Selamat: Slight drop in accidents

1,389 traffic accidents were reported nationwide on the second day of Ops Selamat.
Bukit Aman says this is down slightly from the 1,900-plus accidents on the first day of the festive season traffic operation.
In a related development, the Malaysian Highway Authority has reminded that the second Hari Raya toll-free period for most major highways will be tomorrow.
The first period, which began on the 19th, came to an end on Friday night.

Segamat in Johor is the only area so far to record unhealthy API readings.
At last look, 42 other areas had moderate air quality, while 12 other locations are enjoying good air quality levels.
Meanwhile, four areas in Kelantan, two in Terengganu and one district in Sabah are currently under a level-one heat alert, with temperatures of between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
