Cabinet to discuss increasing employer's EPF contribution

The Prime Minister has announced several encouraging developments for working Malaysians.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim - speaking in conjunction with Labour Day yesterday – said this includes a pledge to resolve the problems plaguing the implementation of the minimum wage.
He adds that a possible salary hike for civil servants from the lower job grades will be discussed…while the Cabinet will also look into proposals to increase the employer’s portion of EPF contributions.

Members of the public, especially young kids and those with health conditions, are advised to stay indoors as much as possible during the ongoing hot and dry spell.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa says this is to avoid the risk of heatstroke.
It comes after an 11-year-old boy and a toddler died of suspected heatstroke, in two separate incidents in Kelantan last week.
Meanwhile, Padang Terap in Kedah and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan were the only areas nationwide currently under a level-one heat alert.
