The Prime Minister says there’s room for improvement for operations at the country’s main entry points.

He also said stern action will be taken if recent allegations of inappropriate practices in Immigration operations are proven true.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this, during a surprise visit to Immigration and Customs counters at the KL International Airport yesterday.

His visit came following allegations of corruption involving the Immigration Department’s handling of foreign visitor arrivals.

Two people have drowned, while eight others are still missing…following a water surge incident near a picnic spot at a river in Kemaman, Terengganu.

The search operation for the missing victims – which was suspended due to bad weather yesterday – will resume this morning.

A group of 36 tourists including kids were trapped for about half an hour inside the revolving tower in Bandar Hilir, Melaka.

They were 60 meters above ground when the rotating platform suffered a mechanical glitch, although no injuries were reported.

The Finance Ministry will work with the Communications and Digital Ministry, to tackle scam cases involving the exchange of eBeliaRahmah credit for cash.

This, amid numerous social media ads offering to exchange the government’s e-wallet assistance into cash, which is not allowed.

At least six people have been arrested following protests in the Swiss city of Lausanne that was inspired by the riots in neighbouring France.

This, as French authorities braced for a sixth night of unrest in its major cities…triggered by the fatal police shooting of a teenager in Paris last week.
